Vision and Mission

OUR VISION AND MISSION

Vision is crucial in the process toward success. Entering into the vision means remaining in the spiritual realm, so from there, we can control everything we desire to happen in the natural realm.

This allows us to see things with God's eyes and call what is not as though it were (Romans 4:17).

The reason why you are reading this brochure is found in Habakkuk 2:2-3.

2 Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

This entire chapter encapsulates what we call “the vision” of our church. This vision can be compared to a train speeding along with urgency, bringing the lost to know Christ before it’s too late (Matthew 24:14).

PURPOSE

Helping people find their way back to God by showing them the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

The Great Commandment is found in (Matthew 22:37-40).

The Great Commission is found in (Matthew 28:19-20).

To fulfill the vision of the Church, we must understand Christ's purpose for establishing it. One of Christ's desires and commands before leaving the earth was to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Every believer must understand what it means to be a disciple of Christ and what their responsibility is in this command. This command involves the entire Church, God’s only instrument to accomplish Jesus' dream of spreading His Word throughout the earth. When Christ envisioned this, He had two aspects in mind:

  • Going refers to the activity of the church in seeking those who do not know Christ. It is about reaching those who have not heard or understood the message of the cross and have, therefore, not made the decision to follow Christ. This is the first step the church must take in its purpose to obey the Great Commission; but it is not the only one.

  • Making disciples is more than preaching the gospel; it is nurturing the spiritually newborn. It is ensuring that they are firmly rooted in their decision for Christ in such a way that they experience life change and become involved in the church. It is about shaping men and women with the character of Christ.

OBJECTIVE (MISSION)

At Elyon Family Church, our mission is to be a faith-driven community that shares God's love through biblical teaching, worship, and acts of service. We believe in the transformative power of the gospel and in the importance of building strong, Christ-centered families, who in turn positively impact the broader community.

Our goal is to guide individuals towards a deep and authentic relationship with God, creating a space where they can find spiritual growth, comfort during difficult times, and celebrate God's blessings together. Through prayer, biblical teaching, and teamwork, we aim to transform lives and leave a lasting legacy in our community.

FOUNDATION

The foundation of this vision is prayer. Jesus Himself initiated this vision by praying before choosing His twelve (Luke 6:12-13) and then modeling a life of prayer with them (Luke 5:16). The disciples were always seen as men of prayer by the people (Acts 3:1), and this led believers to adopt the same habit (Acts 2:42). Everything is achieved through perseverance in prayer. What we desire in the natural realm must first be conquered in the spiritual realm through prayer (Matthew 21:22).

STRATEGIES

Jesus had a vision. In Matthew 9:35-38, He saw the crowds, harassed and helpless, and had compassion for them. He knew that if He did not go to meet them, the fate awaiting them was hell. On the other hand, He was aware that His time was short. Therefore, He focused all His efforts on forming a small group of men whom He saw from the beginning as leaders who would give rise to a spontaneous and explosive movement that would extend throughout the known world of that time.

At Iglesia Familiar Elyon, we also have a vision: to win the crowds with the message of the Gospel. And like Jesus, we also have a method: to make every attendee of our church a leader who forges people that are violently passionate about evangelism and discipleship. Success means reproducing in others what we have learned, as commanded in 2 Timothy 2:2.

The Master dedicated Himself to discipling, focusing His attention on twelve people (Luke 6:12-16), selected after a night of prayer. In this way, He established the secret to successfully discipling nations (Luke 9:1-2). We must work to have effective and unlimited growth where each believer is well pastored and knows the goals to be achieved. To accomplish this, we implement the following stages:

WIN – This will be achieved through:

  • Personal Evangelism (Sharing the Gospel in the streets, at work, school, etc.)

  • Groups (Men, Women, Youth, Young Adults, and Children)

  • Church Services

  • Other Evangelistic Methods and Media

CONSOLIDATE – With the aim of strengthening the “spiritual newborn” in Christ, several special attentions are offered, such as calling them, visiting them, counseling them, etc. The most significant is the process of discipleship: a study of God's Word to guide and direct them on the path of the Lord.

DISCIPLE – Our church must be “a machine for forming leaders and making each member a leader.” After completing the consolidation process, you will enter a School of Leaders where you will be trained in God’s work, learning more deeply about the Lord Jesus Christ, so that the “machinery” never stops until Christ returns.

SEND – This is the glorious moment when you begin to obey “the Great Commandment” (Luke 10:27) and fulfill “the Great Commission” (Matthew 28:19). Like any living organism that has been born and matured, you will now be sent out to make disciples.
